Leah M. Stevens-Block

Ms. Stevens-Block is a Shareholder/Director in the Firm’s construction and procurement practice group and holds a Preeminent “AV” Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. She has experience in all phases of civil litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and appeals. Ms. Stevens-Block routinely advises owners, developers and general contractors in New Mexico on a wide range of construction-related matters. In addition, Ms. Stevens-Block has represented a number of contractors and subcontractors in complex construction defect disputes. Most recently, Ms. Stevens-Block obtained a directed verdict for her client in a multi-plaintiff/multi-defendant/multi-subdivision construction defect dispute.

In addition, Ms. Stevens-Block has served as litigation counsel for public and quasi-public clients, including the Department of Transportation, Department of Corrections, Department of Finance, City and County of Santa Fe, and the University of New Mexico.  Ms. Stevens-Block is highly qualified and capable of providing legal counseling and representation in any of the practice areas of the Firm. Ms. Stevens-Block is licensed to practice law in New Mexico state and federal courts.

Ms. Stevens-Block graduated magna cum laude and with a Tribal Law Certificate from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2013. As a law student, Ms. Stevens-Block was the recipient of the A.H. McLeod Award, which recognized excellence in advocacy and she was granted the Dean’s Award for outstanding contributions to the law school community. Ms. Stevens-Block was also the Managing Editor of the Tribal Law Journal.
